SUMMER DAYS - ORIGAMI ARTWORK SYMBOLISING HAPPINESS AND COMPLETENESS

$1,800.00

Summer Days is an exquisite artwork created with 390 individually folded origami cranes, each of which is unique. The cranes are arranged in a circle to symbolize completeness, abundance, and fullness of life. Due to their sizes, each crane is folded with a tweezer, using exquisite papers made in Japan. The cranes are then placed on a white board with gold and silver leaves that sparkle beautifully when light catches them.

Cranes are believed to represent good luck and long life, and the act of folding them is a contemplative process that requires considerable time to get each fold right. Summer Days has a carefully chosen colourful palette to express idyllic summer colours. Each crane is different but belongs to the same family, and their precise placement is essential to the overall design.

The circular arrangement of the cranes creates movement and strength, making the artwork interesting to view from every angle. The shadows formed by the cranes also add another dimension to the artwork. Summer Days comes in a shadow box frame measuring 85cm x 83cm x 4cm and is perfect for a large wall, providing positive vibrations in your space.
