Bio

Marion Nelson is a printmaker, painter and origami artist.  Working from her studio in Denmark on the south coast of Western Australia, the rhythm of her creative practice is influenced by the beautiful surrounding landscape.

Originally from Singapore, Marion has lived in Denmark for over 25 years.   She works across a variety of media, preferring linocut and monoprint, painting in watercolour and acrylic, and origami.  All techniques compliment and inform each other in her work.

One of the beautiful elements of the printmaking process is the ability to create original artwork, each handmade piece touched by the artist multiple times.  Letting layers upon layers of watercolour float and saturate on paper has a sensual effect. The act of folding exquisite paper into cranes and incorporating them into intricate designs have a meditative process.

Marion’s goal is always try and bring visual enjoyment and beauty to others.  She hopes that her artworks will bring positive vibration into your life.
